Manufacturers and importers must correctly classify hazardous chemicals under Schedule 9 and the GHS, prepare safety data sheets that comply with Schedule 7 and review them at least every five years, and must label chemicals and containers correctly; suppliers must provide the current SDS and not supply unlabelled chemicals. A business must obtain the current SDS and make it readily accessible to workers and emergency services, keep containers correctly labelled including decanted and pipework contents, and keep a register listing every hazardous chemical the workplace uses, handles or stores, with its SDS, readily accessible to workers and others involved.
