The AEO importer ensures clearance data is legible, complete, accurate and protected; the AEO carrier ensures the manifest matches shipper data and is filed on time; the AEO has a documented information security policy and controls (firewalls, passwords) and backup against data loss. Customs familiarises AEO staff with its systems, promotes single window, avoids demanding paper alongside electronic filing and controls and retains AEO data properly.
