This applies to an employer who, just before 1 July 2024, held an engineered stone licence (as defined in r 5 as then in force) and had to have an employee's health monitoring done by a physician specialising in occupational and environmental medicine or in respiratory and sleep medicine. From 1 July 2024, whenever r 169 requires that employee to be monitored, the employer must have the monitoring supervised by one of those two specialist types, meaning a medical practitioner (not a student) registered in that specialty under the national health practitioner registration law.
