Anyone who manufactures or supplies a crystalline silica substance must provide written information stating: the percentage of crystalline silica the substance contains; the name, address and phone number of the Australian manufacturer or the Australian importing supplier; exposure standards, exposure and engineering controls and personal protection information for the substance; and guidance on handling and storage, including how to use it safely. The information must reach each person supplied with the substance no later than the first supply to that person, and must also be given on request to an employer who plans to use the substance at a workplace.
