The 7(a) Lender keeps the original note, guaranties, security and collateral documents, SBA application documents (SBA Form 1919 and others), SBA Forms 159 and any SBA Environmental Indemnification Agreement, in hard copy unless signed electronically to SBA's standards, for the period its federal regulator (or, for SBA Supervised Lenders, 13 CFR 120.461) requires. A CDC keeps the original SBA Form 1244, Forms 159 and any environmental indemnification agreement (others may be scanned), incomplete, withdrawn, cancelled or declined applications for 2 years, general correspondence for 1 year, paid-off and liquidated loan files for 6 years after payoff or charge-off, and operational financial records for 6 years.
