A warrantor that uses the online alternative (added by the E-Warranty Act of 2015) posts the warranty terms in an accessible digital format on its website, clearly and conspicuously and kept accessible; states clearly on the product, packaging or manual the website address and a telephone number, postal address or other non-internet way to ask for the terms; sends a free hard copy promptly on request from a consumer or seller; and gives enough information, with the product or on the site, for the consumer to find the terms for that specific product. For in-store, catalog and door-to-door sales, the online route satisfies the pre-sale duty only if the seller makes the terms available at the place of sale before purchase.
