Pre-sale availability of warranty terms – US Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 USC 2301-2312)

US Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 USC 2301-2312) 702.3a: 16 CFR 702.3(a) Seller makes warranty text available before sale

A seller of a warranted consumer product costing more than 15 dollars makes the warranty text readily available for the prospective buyer to examine before the sale, either by displaying it close to the product or by providing it on request before the sale and putting up signs in prominent places in the store or department telling buyers that warranties are available on request. Where the warrantor uses the online option, the seller may do either through electronic or other means at the point of sale.
