Technical data and technology are released when a foreign person inspects an item in a way that reveals it, when it is exchanged orally or in writing with a foreign person in the United States or abroad, or (under the ITAR) when access information is used to let a foreign person, including oneself, access, view or possess the unencrypted data or to cause data outside the United States to become unencrypted (120.56(a)). The EAR adds that any act causing a release through access information or otherwise needs the same authorisation as exporting to that person (734.15(b)). Release controls therefore cover facility tours, meetings, email, collaboration tools and screen shares, not only file transfers.
This control maps to 1 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 1 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
