Member States should maximise AI's contribution to gender equality and ensure the rights, safety and integrity of girls and women are not violated at any stage, with a gender perspective across ethical impact assessment. They should fund gender-responsive schemes and include gender action plans in digital policies, support girls' and women's participation in STEM and AI careers, ensure AI does not widen gaps in pay, representation, leadership, education, access and unpaid care, prevent gender stereotyping and bias in AI and address online violence, encourage female entrepreneurship and balanced representation in AI research, leadership and boards, channel public funds to programmes with clear gender representation, and enforce harassment-free environments.
