IV. Areas of policy action (paras 48 to 130) – UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI

UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI PA10b: para 120 Competition and export: prevent abuse of market dominance in AI, and respect home ethical standards when deploying abroad

Member States should ensure competitive markets and consumer protection and prevent abuse of dominant positions in data, research, technology or markets across the AI life cycle, with attention to more exposed low- and middle-income countries. Developers based where AI ethics standards exist should keep to them when they export or deploy AI in places without such standards, while still obeying local law.
