Top-level commitment and accountability – UK Bribery Act 2010

UK Bribery Act 2010 P2.2: Top-level involvement in bribery prevention

What does P2.2 require?

Top-level management is involved proportionately: in smaller organisations personally initiating and implementing procedures and critical decisions; in larger ones the board sets policy, tasks management to design, operate and monitor procedures and reviews them regularly; engagement includes selecting and training leaders for anti-bribery work, leading the code of conduct, endorsing publications, raising awareness, engaging external bodies, involvement in high-risk decisions, assurance of the risk assessment and oversight of breaches with feedback to the board (MoJ Principle 2, para 2.4).
