Licensees must comply with consumer standards the Regulator makes after consultation, which may cover information to consumers about services, tariffs and performance, complaint handling and dispute resolution, protection of individual consumer information, provisioning and fault repair, advertising, billing, collection and credit practices, and service standards. Contract terms that exclude or limit these consumer provisions are void. A customer who has tried to resolve a complaint not handled under the standards may ask the Regulator to mediate or order a resolution.
