A valuation review must comply with PS 1, PS 2, Conflicts of interest, the rest of the standards and IVS, be done in the context of the requirements applying to the work reviewed, and record and report opinions with reasons for any disagreement or non-compliance; a member must not review another valuer's work intended for disclosure or publication without all the facts and information the first valuer relied on. Each valuation needs a named, suitably qualified responsible valuer who prepares or supervises it (RICS does not permit valuations by a firm, though 'for and on behalf of' is acceptable), and members must be very cautious before allowing a valuation to be used for another purpose.
