When the QFCC directs the head of a child safe entity in writing to self-assess the entity's implementation of and compliance with the standards and universal principle, the head conducts it as the direction requires and gives the results to the QFCC within the stated period of at least 14 days (s 16). Failing to comply with a direction or to respond to an assessment report can lead the QFCC to form the belief that grounds a compliance notice (s 18(1) example).
