Prince Edward Island Occupational Health and Safety Act General Regulations P53: Working alone: written procedures to protect a worker working alone, compliance by employer and worker, training for lone workers and their supervisors, and procedures available to an officer

What does P53 require?

Where a worker is the employer's sole worker present at a workplace and cannot readily get help if they are injured, fall ill or face an emergency, the employer develops and implements written procedures to protect, as far as reasonably practicable, the worker's health and safety from the risks of the assigned work. Employer and worker comply with the procedures, the employer trains each lone worker and each supervisor responsible for one in the procedures, and a copy of the procedures is made available when an officer asks.
