A manufacturer may appoint an authorised representative in writing; the mandate must allow it at least to keep the declaration and technical documentation available to the supervising bodies for five years, supply on reasoned request the information and documents proving conformity, and cooperate with the supervising bodies on remedying non-compliance of products covered by the mandate. The design duty and drawing up the technical documentation are excluded from the mandate.
