Chapters V to VII: Fundamental alteration and disproportionate burden, presumption, declaration and CE marking – Portugal Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services Decree-Law (Decree-Law No. 82/2022)

Portugal Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services Decree-Law (Decree-Law No. 82/2022) A16: EU declaration of conformity: content, exceptions, model, updating, Portuguese translation and single declaration

What does A16 require?

The declaration states that the applicable requirements have been shown to be met and, where an exception is invoked, which requirements it affects; it follows the Decision 768/2008/EC model, contains the Annex I elements, is kept up to date and is translated, including into Portuguese. Where several Union acts require a declaration, one single declaration identifies them all with publication references, and by drawing it up the manufacturer takes responsibility for compliance. Technical documentation requirements should not unduly burden micro, small and medium enterprises.
