While construction, alteration or repair is under way, scrap and form lumber with nails sticking out, and any other debris, must be kept off work areas, stairs and passageways in and around buildings and other structures. Combustible scrap and debris must be removed at regular intervals, with a safe means of removal provided. Containers must be provided to collect and separate waste, trash, used and oily rags and other refuse; containers for garbage and for oily, flammable or hazardous wastes (caustics, acids, harmful dusts) need covers, and garbage and other waste must be disposed of frequently and at regular intervals.
