For a masonry wall not reinforced and braced under the rule, a limited access zone runs the entire length of the wall on the unscaffolded side, extends out from the wall by the wall's height plus four feet, is restricted to employees actively constructing the wall, and remains until the wall is adequately supported against overturning and collapse (or, for walls over eight feet, until the bracing requirements are met); all masonry walls over eight feet high are adequately braced against overturning and collapse until permanent supporting elements are in place, with bracing either engineered by a registered professional engineer or built to the rule's prescriptive requirements, and a reinforced wall under construction gets a limited access zone set up before work starts, run by a competent person and limited to the employees building the wall.
