The Agency Head is accountable for nominating an Accountable Official, for the agency's compliance with the policy, and for approving and signing the annual attestation of compliance submitted to NSW GovAI. The Accountable Official must be a senior executive with the authority and influence to drive implementation; a Secretary may appoint one for the department or one per agency, and agencies operating outside their department's governance and assurance arrangements must appoint their own and implement the policy themselves.
