Latvia Personal Data Processing Law (Fizisko personu datu apstrades likums, 2018) S.36: Section 36 Video surveillance and dashboard cameras

What does S.36 require?

The household exemption does not cover large-scale surveillance of public space or the use of technical aids to structure the information, so such surveillance by natural persons is subject to the GDPR and this Law. Records made by natural persons with automated recording devices in road traffic may not be disclosed to other persons or institutions unless a GDPR ground for processing exists. A controller that informs data subjects of video surveillance by an informative sign must state at least the controller's name and contact details and the purpose of processing, and indicate how the other Article 13 GDPR information can be obtained.
