Japan Act on Specified Commercial Transactions (Act No. 57 of 1976) Art.44: Art. 44 Prohibited acts in specified continuous services

The provider must not, when soliciting or to prevent cancellation, make false statements about the service content or effect, required goods, amounts, payment, service period, cancellation, the customer's need or other important matters; must not intentionally withhold the first six when soliciting; and must not intimidate. Breach is a criminal offence (Article 70); the customer may rescind (Article 49-2).
