The four dimensions of service management – ITIL 4

ITIL 4 3.5: 3.5 External factors

Service providers operate in changing environments limited by outside factors (political, economic, social, technological, legal, environmental), which are analysed with a PESTLE model and influence how the four dimensions are set up. For example, expectations on the environment steer choices of tools and partners, economic and social factors steer product tiers, and data protection laws such as GDPR change how customer data is gathered, processed and passed to partners.
