Teams are also briefed on: the area under investigation (organization name, address, a location map if available); the mandate; search warrants and other authorities, including the limits of search and seizure; legal aspects and consequences; the timeframe; equipment to bring; logistics; and possible conflicts of interest. The DEFR avoids anything that could invite a charge of built-in bias, such as copying one computer but not another, later found to hold exculpatory evidence, because of an impression formed at the briefing.
