Tools used to collect or acquire evidence are chosen with care, because acting without weighing the risks can lose some or all of the evidence through the technology used, and risks are assessed to limit exposure to damage claims. The assessment systematically considers the risks and their effect on the investigation, including: which collection or acquisition methods will be used; what equipment is needed on site; how volatile the data is; whether any device can be reached remotely and whether that threatens integrity; what happens if data or equipment is damaged; whether data may already be compromised; and whether a device may be set to destroy, spoil or hide data if switched off or accessed carelessly (a logic bomb, for example).
This control maps to 2 controls across 2 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 2 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
