Control: physical security for communication centres, the buildings holding switching and other facilities of the telecommunications business, should be designed, built and put in place. Purpose: to shield communication centres from physical hazards and stop unauthorised physical access and damage. Guidance: put centres on level ground free of vibration and natural hazards such as ground movement, high above the water table and outside flood plains, away from man-made dangers (chemical works, for example) and not next to stores of explosive or combustible material; pick sites least exposed to environmental harm and to strong electromagnetic fields, and where a vulnerable site is nonetheless chosen, add measures against the known hazards and electromagnetic shielding; design buildings to limit the effects of earthquake, fire, lightning, flood and water leaks, and structurally sound for the floor load; fit automatic fire alarms; and use HVAC controls that hold all equipment within the conditions its manufacturers specify.
The graph holds this control, the 0 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
