A new sub-characteristic under functional suitability. It describes how far the system can adapt to a changing environment, including learning from new training data, production data and the results of earlier actions. Continuous learning is one route to it, not a condition. Adaptability is not a straight-line good: reinforcing uncertain decision paths can make unwanted outcomes more likely and can entrench human bias.
