The provider has access to the people, premises, equipment, systems and support services its PT activities need, both to manage and to perform them. Measurements or tests under its responsibility for characterising PT items or assessing homogeneity and stability are conducted to those requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 that are relevant (ISO 15189 in the medical area), meaning those that bear on the validity of results such as metrological traceability, not management system requirements. Where a PT item meets the definition of a reference material it is produced under conditions meeting the relevant requirements of ISO 17034 (ISO 15194 may apply for medical certified reference materials).
