ISO/IEC 17025:2017 - General Requirements for Testing and Calibration 4.1: Impartiality

What does 4.1 require?

The laboratory's activities shall be carried out impartially, and shall be structured and managed so that impartiality is protected. Its management shall commit to impartiality. The laboratory is accountable for keeping its activities impartial and shall not let financial, commercial or other pressures undermine that. It shall keep identifying risks to its impartiality, including risks that come from what it does, from its relationships and from those of its staff (for example through ownership, governance, management, staff, shared resources, finances, contracts, marketing and payment of commission for referrals), and where it finds such a risk it shall be able to show how it removes or reduces it.

  • 4.1.6 Independence to the extent required: Types A, B and C
  • A.1 Type A: third-party inspection body independence

Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
