Clause 4: General requirements (impartiality, independence, confidentiality) – ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection

ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection 4.1.3: Ongoing identification of risks to impartiality

What does 4.1.3 require?

The body identifies risks to its impartiality continuously, covering risks from its own activities, its relationships and the relationships of its personnel, bearing in mind that a relationship does not automatically create a risk. Typical sources are who owns and governs the body, who manages and staffs it, what it shares with others, how it is financed and contracted, how it markets itself and whether anyone is paid for referring clients.
