At planned intervals top management must review the management system, for example with interested parties taking part, to make sure it stays suitable, adequate and effective. The review must involve interested parties and must take into account: progress on actions from earlier reviews; shifts in the relevant internal and external issues; information on sustainable development performance, including patterns in nonconformities and corrective actions, in audit findings and in what monitoring and measurement show; and openings for continual improvement. What comes out of it must include decisions on improvement opportunities and on any changes the system needs. The organization must keep documented evidence of the outcomes, and appointed or elected representatives must acknowledge the reviews.
