The organization must set objectives for sustainable development in communities for the relevant functions and levels, doing so openly and with interested parties involved, and grounding them in the sustainability issues it has judged significant and priority. The objectives must fit the policy, be measurable where practicable, reflect the requirements that apply, be monitored, be communicated and be revised when appropriate, and documented information on them must be kept. In planning how to meet them, the organization must decide the actions to take, the resources needed, the person responsible, the completion date and the way results are to be evaluated.
