Clause 4.5: Tools, procedures and responsibilities for data collection – ISO 30414:2025

ISO 30414:2025 4.5.9: Technologies (AI) and HCRD

What does 4.5.9 require?

Guidance that, as AI spreads through work, leaders and governance bodies see that it is used ethically, manage its effect on the workforce, protect data privacy and security and keep strategy and policy under review; managers and supervisors lead upskilling and reskilling, build an adaptable culture and explain how roles are changing; and workers are expected to keep learning throughout their careers and to build skills that work alongside AI. HCRD assesses for materiality the AI risks or opportunities that cut across areas: algorithmic bias and what it does to inclusion and diversity; AI's effect on productivity and well-being; deliberate development to close skills gaps; how work is split between people and AI; how far productivity depends on AI; what AI does to the management of intangible assets; and the differing rules on AI between jurisdictions. HR considers how AI bears on job analysis, job evaluation, performance review, total rewards and human-centred work, deciding on evidence along a scale of risk and reward backed by impact analysis (ISO/IEC 42001, ISO 45001, ISO 30409, ISO 26000).
