Guidance that comparability matters above all to outside audiences: between organizations in the same country and in similar sectors or of similar type, international benchmarking being harder. KPIs are best reported along two dimensions: key indicators tied to strategy and values that can be measured and compared from period to period (their validity resting on data quality and continuity, with trends shown over the current period and the two before it, a single year being enough in a first report); and priorities by workforce segment (strategic workforce groups, for instance job families, critical segments, capabilities and sites; strategic entities such as gender and other diversity dimensions, hierarchy, job levels and regions; and segmentation on several dimensions across every reporting area).
