ISO 27005:2022 10.5.1: General

Monitoring under 27001 9.1 covers every aspect of assessment and treatment in order to: keep treatments effective, efficient and economical in design and operation; gather information to improve later assessments; draw lessons from incidents and near misses, from changes and trends, and from what worked and what did not; detect changes in internal and external context, including in risk criteria and the risks themselves, that may call for revised treatments and priorities; and identify emerging risks. Retained risk scenarios can be turned into monitoring scenarios (Annex A.2.7).
