A configuration management plan is established and configuration management applied to the safety lifecycle work products, following an established standard such as ISO 10007, with unique identification of configuration items, baselines, control of changes and reproducibility of any released configuration; part 2 6.4.7.2 requires it from system development onward. Per the SGS quotation it aims to make any work product, item or element, and the circumstances in which it was produced, identifiable without ambiguity and reproducible under control whenever needed, with the links and differences between versions traceable.
