Business continuity strategies are the routes the organization could take to meet its continuity requirements; each rests on one or more business continuity solutions, and solutions, meaning the approaches, arrangements, methods, procedures, processing and actions that put strategies into effect, can serve several strategies. Together they let the organization restart business activities within the times required at acceptable capacity and point to capabilities it can build up over time to lower disruption risk. Guidance: base the choice of strategies and solutions on the impact analysis and risk assessment results, with proper regard to cost, and have settled procedures for working out and choosing them, including review and sign-off of the solutions put forward, looking at options that act before, during and after a disruption.
