Systems for recycling or reusing materials are designed so that end products are not contaminated. Materials destined for recycling or reuse are identified and kept apart from other products, materials and waste, in identified storage kept suitably clean. They are inspected and cleaned to the degree needed before reuse; anything that cannot be cleaned or repaired to a documented standard, a wooden pallet for example, is treated as waste. A reused material serves only a specified purpose and an appropriate level of traceability is kept.
