A waste management programme, run so it cannot contaminate product, identifies waste (food waste included where relevant) and collects, contains, removes and disposes of it, waste water included. Waste, and where appropriate food loss and waste, has its own designated storage area kept clean and tidy, with FLW stores designed and maintained against contamination. Removal systems cope with the volumes and are kept in good order. Labelled materials, products and printed packaging that become waste are defaced or destroyed so that trademarks cannot be reused, and approved disposal contractors do the removal and destruction. Records of what was identified and how it was disposed of or destroyed are kept.
