ISO 22002-100:2025 Prerequisite programmes on food safety, Part 100: Requirements for the food, feed and packaging supply chain 7.5: Monitoring and detection

What does 7.5 require?

The site, facility and surroundings are inspected for signs of infestation at a suitable frequency. Monitoring places detectors, bait stations or traps at key points to reveal pest activity, keeps a map of them, and sites them so they cannot contaminate materials, products or equipment. Devices are built to prevent contamination, are robust and tamper-resistant, suit the target pest and are checked often enough to pick up new activity. Where monitoring is outsourced the organization still reviews the reports and makes sure corrective action follows. Inspection records are kept and analysed for trends and for how well the programme works.
