The integrated system is verified for robustness, controllability and the correct interaction of components in the vehicle, using robustness tests (including across the ODD and the minimal risk condition execution), requirement-based tests, in-the-loop tests, environmental condition tests, ageing verification, directed randomised input tests that emulate hard-to-reproduce situations, vehicle-level tests, controllability tests including reasonably foreseeable misuse, interface verification, verification of vehicle-mounted sensing characteristics and re-simulation of known hazardous scenarios. Non-deterministic systems may be evaluated using statistical or risk management methods.
