Clause 10: Evaluation of known scenarios – ISO 21448:2022

ISO 21448:2022 10.3: 10.3 Sensing verification

Sensing is checked to confirm that it performs, times, measures and withstands stress correctly for its intended use and for reasonably foreseeable misuse, using methods such as sensor specification sufficiency checks, requirement-based tests, injection of inputs that trigger insufficiencies, in-the-loop and vehicle tests on SOTIF scenarios, tests under varied environmental conditions in the ODD, ageing verification, field experience evaluation, re-simulation of known hazardous scenarios and verification of architectural independence. Where an issue straddles sensing and planning, methods from both areas may be needed.
