ISO 21001:2025 4.1: 4.1 Understanding the organization and its context

Identify the internal and external issues that bear on the organization's purpose and on its capacity to reach the EOMS's intended results, decide whether climate change is one of those relevant issues, and keep information on the issues under monitoring and review. Notes cover positive and negative factors, the outside factors (technology, competition, markets, culture, politics, economy, environment) and inside ones (vision, culture, knowledge, performance), and the mission or vision statement as a record of direction.
