When planning the EOMS, weigh the 4.1 issues and the 4.2 and 4.4 requirements and identify the risks and opportunities to be tackled so that the EOMS can reach its outcomes, desirable effects grow, undesired effects are prevented or reduced, and improvement continues. Plan actions for them, how to build those actions into EOMS processes (clause 8) and how to judge their effectiveness. Actions are proportionate to likelihood and potential impact on product and service conformity. Notes list treatment options for risk and examples of opportunities such as new programmes, markets, partnerships and technology.
