Clause 7: Integrating sustainability into the procurement process – ISO 20400:2017 - Sustainable Procurement

ISO 20400:2017 - Sustainable Procurement 7.3.3: Applying minimum and optional requirements

What does 7.3.3 require?

Requirements can be minimum (acceptable levels, excluding undesirable features) or optional (preferred solutions linked to an evaluation criterion rewarding performance above the minimum and possibly a contract KPI), with variants a further technique; the market analysis informs what is minimum and optional, and where supplier capability is uncertain or uneven, competition should not be restricted unless the requirement is truly indispensable; where a supplier with lesser performance is selected, agreed progression should be monitored in the contract.
