The organisation performs law enforcement operations only to the extent a law enforcement or controlling military authority has specifically authorised, and develops additional procedures for such support, including uniforms and vehicle markings in the form the relevant authority directs, coordination and communication with that authority, rules for the use of force as set out in clause 8.3, and the handling of persons apprehended. Detention work (guarding, moving or questioning people whom law enforcement holds) sits outside the standard.
