Yardsticks are set for keeping watch over and judging the records policies, systems, procedures and processes, on a regular basis, with records professionals, IT, legal, auditors and managers as appropriate. The programme checks that systems and processes follow authorised policy and operate as designed, that changes to requirements are met and that management of records keeps improving. Third party systems and processes are monitored against contract requirements. The programme assigns responsibility, defines what is measured and how, sets timing and assigns corrective action; may be integrated with other cycles or run by external bodies; leads to modification of unsuitable policies or systems; and its own records are kept.
