What does A.3 require?

Before any counting starts the organisation checks that everything about the room or zone that bears on its integrity is finished and working as its performance specification requires, and is recommended to think through the order in which the supporting performance tests are run, for which ISO 14644-3 Annex A offers a checklist.

A.2 Use a discrete particle counter able to size and count at the required sizes, with a valid calibration
A.4.1-3 Derive the minimum number of sampling locations and position them representatively
A.4.4 Set the single sample volume and time per location from the class limit, at least 2 litres and 1 minute
A.5 Follow the sampling procedure: set-up and zero check, probe orientation, occupancy conditions, handling of abnormal counts
A.6.1 Record each sample count and calculate the average and the concentration per cubic metre at each location
