Guidance: the organization should decide which of the needs and expectations held by relevant interested parties bind it, and which of the others it will take on voluntarily; together these are its compliance obligations, detailed further in 6.1.3. The approach should suit the organization's scope, nature and scale, and be practical in detail, complexity, time, cost and data availability. It should gain knowledge of the broad areas of applicable legislation (air quality, discharge limits, waste regulation, facility licensing) and of voluntary commitments (customer requirements, voluntary codes, agreements with communities or authorities) and their implications for the intended outcomes.
This control maps to 5 controls across 1 other frameworks. If you already hold one of them, the evidence you collected for it is the starting point here rather than new work.
Every mapping shown was judged rather than inferred from wording similarity, and the ones that failed review are published too. See the coverage reports and what was rejected.
The graph holds this control, the 5 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
