Both the project organization and the organization that originated the project should make sure suitable communication processes exist for the project and that the current state of the quality management system is communicated. Communication planning should allow for the needs of the originating organization, the project organization, the customer and the other stakeholders, and produce a documented communication plan. The plan should set out which information is formally communicated, by what media and how often; for meetings, their purpose, frequency and timing and the documented information they produce; the information management system (7.6.3); who sends and who receives information; and the relevant controls on documented information, security processes included. Project documented information should be planned so that its layout, language and organization stay compatible, and progress evaluation reports formatted to bring out departures from the project management plan. ISO 9001:2015 clause 7.5 covers control of documented information.
